A selection of comments about Jon Fleming from the Press, Cruise Management and Passengers:
Press Reviews
"On deck next morning, destination lecturer Jon Fleming talks passengers through this busy waterway, past its fortresses, palaces and Florence Nightingale's hospital, and resumes his commentary once the ship has crossed the Sea of Marmara into the Dardanelles, where the ancient site of Troy stands opposite the verdant Gallipoli peninsula that ran with the blood of a quarter of a million soldiers in the First World War." - Independent Newspaper Article
“Jon Fleming...did an excellent job of providing information on the history, culture, points of interest, and just general fascinating trivia for each of the ports we visited.” – Linda Garrison – About.com Cruise Editor

“Guest lecturer John Fleming spoke eloquently about the Mediterranean ports of call between Rome, Livorno, Nice, Palma de Mallorca and Barcelona.” –
Tom Brady, President of the Destination Group
"Hi Jon. We really enjoyed the whole cruise, especially as we had so much information and fascinating insights about the ports of call from you" - Email from passenger
“We were very fortunate to be blessed with an outstanding port lecturer, Jon Fleming. With so many new places to see and experience, it was so enjoyable to be able to hear Jon’s first hand experiences and recommendations for each port. The port presentations were around 45 minutes, and Jon would answer any questions both before and after for as long as was needed. He really enjoys what he is doing and genuinely wants to assist people to get the most out of their port visits.” - Passenger website South East Asia Cruise
“Jon Fleming made our trip for us - I did not go to his first day but saw it on tv later- you can be assured I went every day thereafter!” - Cruise Critic message board
“There was an excellent presenter on board, Jon Fleming who lectured on each port two or three days prior to our arrival. Unlike the shore excursion lectures, his talks were more about what we would see, the people and history of the area than about what shore excursion to take or what jewellery store to shop in. I can’t tell you how much we appreciated John’s talks. In fact we liked them so much that when the Activities Department forgot to schedule his Hong Kong talk we held a mini-uprising to get it reinstated.” - Cruise Critic Review – Far East
“Lecturer Jon Fleming is fantastic.” - Cruise Critic message board
“Jon Fleming is without doubt the best on board port lecturer I have ever heard - he really helped make our trip very memorable last year as we quickly developed such a great appreciation of each port before we arrived. He and his wife were on one of our shore excursions and they were a lovely couple.” - Cruise Critic message board
“Orientations to ports and tours were provided by the outstanding and highly stimulating onboard Destination Lecturer, Jon Fleming. “ - Cruise Critic review
“The guest lecturer Jon gave excellent talks on ports of call. It was good to find that these talks did not include any of the usual ‘here are the shops we want you to go to’ and concentrated instead on what there was to see and the history and culture behind it.” - Cruise Critic review
“The very informative Port lecturer presented the details in a way that was easily understandable.” - Cruise Critic review
“On our North-East Asia Cruise last February on Quest we had 3 lecturers as well. We had a port lecturer - Jonathan Fleming - who was fantastic. He brushed an historical and sociological portrait of the various ports, and finished his talks with the most interesting things to see. All of his talks were packed with people standing up in the back. I hear Jonathan is back on Quest (not sure for how long) - if he is, don't miss his talks and don't hesitate to go talk to him. He is very knowledgeable about history and quite pleasant to talk to.” - Cruise Critic message board
“Quest “Must Dos”. If Jonathan Fleming happens to be on board doing enrichment lectures on upcoming ports ... do not miss them; he does a fantastic presentation.” - Cruise Critic message board
“The guest lecturers, especially Jon Fleming (the port lecturer), were excellent.” - Cruise Critic review
“Shipboard activities were the usual, trivia, dance classes, bingo - what was a notch up was the enrichment series; it is an absolute must. Jonathon Fleming's introduction to each country - culture, history, key sights etc - was wonderful and as it was replayed on the stateroom tv you could fit in listening to him at a time to suit yourself.” - Cruise Critic review
“All the ports of call lectures by Jonathan Fleming were very well supported and rightly so as he provided spot on information. I don't know whether he will still be on the ship when you board but if he is don't miss them.” - Cruise Critic message board
“The port lecturer, John Fleming was interesting in his content and presentation, and his lectures were well attended.” - Cruise Critic message board

“We appreciated the excellent port talks” - Cruises.co.uk review
“Finalement, Jonathan Fleming, un historien britannique nous a fait les conférences sur les différentes escales de notre croisière. J’ai fait plusieurs excursions avec lui et il était extrêmement sympathique et connaissant! (Finally, Jonathan Fleming, a British historian gave us lectures on the various stops on our cruise. I made several trips with him and he was extremely friendly and knowledgeable!)” - Voyageforum.com review
